Faith in Action – Serving Our Community
Faith in Action – Serving Our Community
Mountain of Glory, Manchester believes that advancing the Christian faith includes showing the love of Christ in practical ways. Our community activities are open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Practical Help & Signposting
Subject to capacity and resources, we seek to:
Offer food support or signposting to local foodbanks and community kitchens.
Provide basic household support referrals where appropriate.
Help people connect with local agencies for housing, benefits, immigration, health and debt advice.
Where we cannot meet a need directly, we try to connect people with trusted local organisations that can.
Pastoral Care & Visiting
We aim to support those who may feel isolated or vulnerable, for example:
Home or hospital visits (where appropriate and requested).
Support for older people, carers and those living alone.
Phone calls or prayer support for those who cannot easily attend services.
Support for Families & New Arrivals
Our heart is wide open to families and individuals settling in Greater Manchester, including migrants, refugees and new arrivals.
We seek to:
Offer a welcoming community and listening ear.
Help people connect with local schools, services and community groups.
Provide information about other voluntary and faith-based organisations offering support.
Working with Others
Where possible, Mountain of Glory, Manchester will cooperate with:
- Local churches and faith groups
- Charities and community organisations
- Statutory bodies and local service providers
The aim is to improve support for residents and increase the overall benefit for the community.
All community support depends on available volunteers, funds and resources, but the intention remains constant: to show the love of Christ in both word and action.
Creating Welcoming Spaces
Mountain of Glory, Manchester seeks to create warm, safe places where people can meet, talk and be heard. Coffee mornings, informal gatherings and small groups give neighbours a chance to build friendships, share worries and receive prayer if they wish. These spaces help reduce isolation and strengthen community life across Salford, Cheetham Hill, Prestwich and Radcliffe.
Faith at the Heart of Service
All our community support flows from our Christian faith. We pray regularly for our neighbourhoods, offer Bibles and Christian resources, and invite people to services and events that explain the hope found in Jesus Christ. Help is never dependent on belief or church attendance, but we are always ready to explain that the love we show comes from the love of God.
Get Involved
There is a place for you to serve at Mountain of Glory, Manchester. Whether you enjoy praying, welcoming, teaching children, singing or offering practical help, joining a ministry team helps you grow in Christ and bless others in our community.
Growing in Gift and Character
As people serve, we encourage them through mentoring, short training sessions and regular prayer. The aim is that every helper develops both spiritual gifts and Christ-like character, so that our ministries honour God and build up the church.
